Ultra-Clean™ Technology Available for License
Ultraviolet light with a wavelength in the range of 200 to 315 nanometers (germicidal UV) has been used for more than 50 years to disinfect surfaces and fluids.
The most common source for the UV light has been the mercury vapor lamp. Mercury vapor lamps typically provide an intensity of UV that requires a few minutes to tens of minutes
to sterilize a surface.
UV Solutions was founded to develop flash-based sterilization technology into unique, practical, and economic solutions for specific applications in consumer
and professional healthcare. UV Solutions has a portfolio of issued and pending patents. These patents and patent applications cover a variety of low-cost, easy to use products that have already been developed by UV Solutions. The unique Ultra-Clean™ technology can
also be applied to many additional diverse products and applications.
UV Solutions germicidal ultraviolet flash technology (Ultra-Clean™) provides rapid, effective and low-cost solutions for a broad array of disinfection and sterilization applications. Germicidal UV is effective against bacteria, viruses, molds, spores and fungi. The products are intended to prevent the colonization and transmission of microorganisms that cause infections, without any side effects to the individual, caregiver or product/material.
Key product features include:
- Instantaneous sterilization/disinfection
- Low cost
- Light seal to confine flash to intended area of
disinfection/sterilization
- Safety mechanisms to prevent accidental flashing
- Color change UV exposure confirmation: UV-sensitive colorants incorporated into product indicate exposed to sanitizing light. (Color returns to normal in two minutes)
- Replacement indicator: UV-sensitive color dot (or symbol) may be applied to product to indicate when product should be replaced (Dosimeter – changes color as a function of UV exposure)
- Small, light weight, portable units
- Catheter site and wound care systems that deliver disinfection
through a dressing
UV Solutions' portfolio of issued and pending patents is continually
expanding and currently includes a variety of applications for both professional and consumer products
